Volunteers Make All the Difference

Whether you are interested in direct animal care, special events, customer service or administrative work we can use your help. Volunteering with WRCNF will give you the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of all animals.  Our organization is 100% volunteer run which means our volunteers do everything!

Why volunteer?

Our volunteers have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment utilizing their talents to help injured or displaced wildlife have a second chance at life. We inspire community. It’s not always easy—but we have fun!

  • Develop Teamwork Skills

  • Make New Friends

  • Increase Your Knowledge of Native Wildlife

  • Share your Skills and Talents

  • Help Strengthen the Community

  • Educate Your Peers

  • Build your Resume

AVAILABLE VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

Seaboard Center Clean-Ups -Many shifts available

Caretaker/Fosters - For squirrels, opossums, raccoons (must obtain rabies vaccinations— raccoons only)

Handyman

Outreach/Education

Food Supply Collections/Pick-up

We're also looking for Volunteers to help with the following:

Fixing

Pet

Carriers

There are several carriers without doors, and some doors without carries, and some tops without bottoms and bottoms without tops. We need to fix these to have as many complete carriers as possible, and break down the remainders into half "houses" for raccoons or opossums.

Fixing

Wire

Cages

This job requires the purchase of a wire-crimper and barrel sleeves (I believe this is a relatively low cost).  There are several potential Opossum and Squirrel cages that are unusable until holes are sealed up.

Rust

Repairs

This job requires the purchase of a metal brush and anti-rust spray (also cheap).  There are several wire cages in need of de-rusting as well as some doors for pet carriers.  This will help our materials last longer!

Repair Chain Link Fence

The poles and fencing are on property, to create new wilding cages for raccoons.  I am unsure of what materials are still needed for this project. I am trying to work with a local fencing company to get more details of what is needed for this project. Anyone with knowledge of chain link would be helpful.

Cleaning

There is always cleaning and organizing that can be done in most parts of the center.
